These Terms & Conditions, along with our Rules and Privacy Notice, govern your participation in Sofa Sleuths hunts.

By entering any hunt, you agree to these terms.

The Competition

Sofa Sleuths runs skill-based prize competitions.

Each hunt consists of 3 cryptic clues released at the same time.

Entrants must submit what they believe is the exact correct answer.

Only fully correct answers qualify for the prize draw.

All correct entries go into a random live draw.

Prize

The main prize (eg; £75) will be clearly advertised on the home & hunt page.

We may also offer runner-up prizes depending on the number of correct entries.

All prizes are paid in full via PayPal.

Proof of payment is always posted publicly for transparency.

If no fully correct answer is received, the prize will roll over to the next hunt.

Payments

Entry fees are securely processed via PayPal or Stripe. We do not store full card details ourselves.

Prizes are paid promptly to the winner’s chosen PayPal account.

Winner Selection & Notification

The winner is selected via a random draw from all fully correct entries.

The winner(s) will be notified via the email address provided at entry, usually within 24 hours of the hunt closing.

The winner must claim the prize and provide valid PayPal details within 7 days of notification.

If the winner does not respond or provide details within this time, we reserve the right to select a replacement winner or reallocate the prize at our discretion.

Publication & Proof

To ensure absolute transparency and comply with UK prize competition guidelines, the random winner selection will be broadcast via a live video draw on our official Facebook page.

The names of all entrants who successfully solved the puzzle will be displayed or announced during the live broadcast to verify the fairness of the pool. Full contact details will never be disclosed.

Following the draw, anonymised proof of payment (such as a redacted PayPal receipt screenshot) will be published on the website's Winners page and Facebook page.

Eligibility

Open to anyone aged 18 years or over.

Excludes the organiser, immediate family members, or anyone professionally connected to the promotion.

General Terms

The judge’s decision is final.

No hints are provided during the hunt.

Any form of cheating, collusion, sharing of solutions, or use of multiple accounts will result in disqualification.

Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other alternatives except as explicitly stated in these Terms.

We reserve the right to cancel, amend or extend a hunt if necessary.

We will not be held liable for any failure or delay in email delivery (including winner notifications, or other communications) caused by factors outside our reasonable control, such as spam filters, incorrect email addresses provided by entrants, email provider issues, or internet connectivity problems.

These prize terms form part of the overall Terms & Conditions and are subject to the same governing law (England & Wales) and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
